Wat Suthat

Constructed during King Rama I’s reign, Wat Suthat was built with the purpose of sheltering a 13th century bronze Buddha image from the Sukhotai era. Even though it has an impressive interior, Wat Suthat is better known for its famous giant swing, which was used in dangerous Brahmin rituals that eventually became outlawed in 1932.
