An Epicurean Journey of Italian Cheeses at La Brezza
The St. Regis Singapore’s La Brezza is paying tribute to an essential ingredient in many iconic Italian dishes this month. The five-course degustation menu ($88++ per person, $148++ with wine pairing) features the likes of goat cheese from Piedmont with veggie tartare and beer battered zucchini blossom, Lazio pecorino with spaghetti and roasted pumpkin, and mozzarella with char-grilled beef striploin. Dishes from the degustation menu are also available a la carte, priced $24-$36.

ACME Takes Over Maggie Joan’s
Dubbed Sydney’s Price of Pasta, ACME’s Chef and Co-Owner Mitch Orr will be in town with his crew this weekend to serve his restaurant’s inventive Italian dishes with an Asian touch at CBD cool kid Maggie Joan’s. Look forward to a menu of ACME classics, such as the Pig’s Head Macaroni with Egg Yolk (Orr’s take on the traditional Filipino dish sisig) and their infamous Baloney Sandwich. Priced at $75++ per person, tickets have to be pre-booked on Chope, with six seatings available: 12pm, 12.30pm, 6pm, and 8pm on 16 September 2016, 6pm and 8pm on 17 September.

Sichuan Pepper Gin Now Available in Singapore
Owners of indie craft spirits company Paper Lantern Distilling Rick Ames and Simin Kayhan Ames started a crowdfunding campaign to produce Sichuan Pepper Gin…and they raised more than S$35, 000 in a month. Distilled from high-grade Thai rice, a little honey, and Asian botanicals such as lemongrass, galangal, and Sichuan pepper, the spirit is smooth, slightly sweet, and quite spicy. With their efforts, it’s now available online for $115 (700ml, includes shipping) and at various bars like Smoke & Mirrors, The Cufflink Club, Long Chim, and Izy.
Cocotte’s September Specials
One of the best French bistros in Singapore, Cocotte is one of our favourite places to go when the craving for steak frites hits. This month, they’re upped the ante with four premium cuts of meat prepared with French techniques and flavours from the French countryside. Go for the Grilled Iberico Pork Rack ($49++) – think acorn-fed Spanish Iberico pork with Kabocha pumpkin, apple confit, and a hazelnut brown butter – and the Robbins Island grassfed wagyu steak served with shaved black winter truffles ($69++), fries, cèpe cream, and salad.
Belvedere Spritz Collection Launched
Crafted from just two ingredients – Dankowskie rye and artesian water – Belvedere has launched a collection of 10 refreshing, low-sugared (and by default, low caloried) long drinks. Prepared with a naturally flavoured modifier, sparkling and tonic water, and two fresh garnishes, look forward to variations like Lillet Blanc grapefruit slices and thyme, and dry vermouth, lemon, and lime. Priced between $12-$25, you can find the Belvedere Spritz Collection at places like Lantern, Cé La Vi, 63 Celcius, The Coastal Settlement, CMPB, Little Saigon, and Octapas.
