June certainly rolled around really quickly! Celebrate the start of a new month with our gastronomic highlights this week – think delectable new menus at Marina Bay Sands and Tiong Bahru, an indulgent seafood bar, and charming perfume-inspired cocktails.
Penhaligon’s Inspired Cocktails at Tippling Club
Penhaligon’s Sartorial Perfume
Tippling Club‘s head bartender Kamil Foltan has debuted Sartorial, which draws on the scent chart of the gentleman’s fragrance from prestigious English perfume house Penhaligon’s of the same name. With the original perfume inspired by the bespoke tailoring experience at Norton & Sons of Savile Row, Sartorial features house made honey-infused Monkey Shoulder whisky with hints of orange peel, cloves, and black tea. All we can say about this is anyone – gentleman or gentlewoman – will be sure to appreciate this contemporary, elegant creation. Kamil will also be serving Juniper Sling, based on another fragrance by Penhaligon’s that was created on a previous collaboration. Both cocktails are priced at $24.
The Pelican Seafood Bar & Grill launches Raw Bar
The new Raw Bar at Pelican Seafood Bar & Grill is bound to fulfill any seafood-lover’s wildest dreams. Bestowing a selection of tempting seafood upon us such as the citrus-laced Scallop with Shaken Rice Dressing($18), Tuna ($18) that’s been torched to perfection, and luxurious Sturgeon Caviar ($69/15g), an evening here is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of seafood connoisseurs.
Caffé B’s New Dinner Menu
Marina Bay Sands is not known for cheap eats – and while Caffé B‘s new 5-course dinner menu is not exactly inexpensive, the $65 price tag is easily more digestible than its neighbours. With tantalising appetisers like Smoked Salmon, Cornichon, Capers and Dashi Pear, and hearty mains like Oven Roasted Lamb Rack that’s been marinated overnight, foodies have another place to try at this integrated resort without burning a hole in their pocket.
Open Door Policy’s Revamped Menu
Open Door Policy’s Seafood Risotto
Open Door Policy, one of our favourite Tiong Bahru haunts, has undergone a menu overhaul, and we’re happy to report that the changes won’t disappoint. From velvety, creamy Guacamole Risotto ($20) with fresh chilli and poached egg to a perfectly seared Akaroa Salmon confit ($29) with zesty blood orange jelly, and even a flavourful Kangaroo Fillet ($34)…our review of the new menu is upcoming, we promise.
Weekend Brunchin’ at Chillax Café
Pancakes with Nutella, Salted Caramel, and Bananas from Chillax Cafe
Glitzy weekend brunches featuring bubbly and oysters not really your thing? Pop by Chillax Café for its unpretentious brunch menu. It’s comfort food all the way with hearty fare like the Marmite Pork Burger ($17), Chilli Crab Poutine ($13), and Salted Egg Mushrooms ($12). Save some room for dessert; try the Adult’s Milo Dinosaur ($15), which features a splash of vodka, or order up a side of Pancakes with Nutella, Salted Caramel, and Bananas ($14), a guaranteed crowd pleaser!
