The Weekly Grub: 5 Things to Eat & Drink this Week

From new lunch hours and dishes at MEATLiquor SINgapore to a new weekend breakfast special at Bread Street Kitchen, here are five things to try this week:

Pasta Fresca Da Salvatore at Boat Quay Revamped

Pasta Fresca Da Salvatore may have recently given its Boat Quay outlet a fresh coat of paint, but its rustic, trattoria style remains the same. With 16 hand-made pastas and 21 accompanying sauces, you’ll never go bored with your pasta-mixing and matching. Our favourites are the Squid Ink Linguine Marinara ($22.90), which frolics in a heady, garlic-infused white wine sauce and the Burrata-stuffed ravioli ($25.90), that ups the decadence with porcini gravy.

Pasta Fresca is located at 30 Boat Quay, Singapore 049819, p. 6532 6283. Open Mon-Thurs 11.30am-12am. Fri-sat 11.30am-2am. Sun 12pm-12am.

New Menu at The Waterfall

Shangri La Hotel’s resident Italian restaurant The Waterfall is rolling out an all-new menu that features the rustic flavours of Southern Italy and the Mediterranean. Chef de Cuisine Marco De Vincentis has taken inspiration from the time-honoured recipes of his grandmother to come up with this menu shake-up, curating a total of 27 delicious à la carte dishes and six sinful desserts for the indulgence of diners.

The Waterfall is located at 22 Orange Grove Road, Level One, Garden Wing, Shangri La Hotel, Singapore 258350, p. 6213 4138/ 4398. Open Daily 6.30am-11am, 11am-12pm (light snacks), 12pm-3pm, 3pm-6pm (light snacks), 6pm-10.30pm.

Crabby Saturday’s at W Singapore

W Singapore’s The Kitchen Table, an establishment adept at churning out specialty set meals and themed buffets, will be prepping a crab-laden extravaganza for the enjoyment of all seafood lovers in Singapore. Available from 12pm to 3pm every Saturday in April, diners can look forward to a hedonistic selection of mouth-watering crustacean delights, including the Southern Style Crab Bisque, Wok Fried Crab with tamarind & chili, and Crab Curry Kankrar’r Jhol. À la carte options start from $10++, set options for two pax start from $68++.

MEATLiquor New Hours and New Menu

Despite being known for its burgers and cocktails, MEATLiquor SINgapore is taking on a new, health-conscious approach this year. A trio of salads will be introduced during MEATLiquor’s new lunch hour opening time of 11.30am to 2.30pm every Thursday to Saturday. For a touch of seafood, the Margarita Prawn Cocktail ($18) sees fresh poached prawns with celery salt and house-made cocktail sauce.

MEATLiquor SINgapore is located at 99 Duxton Rd, Singapore 089543, p. 6221 5343. Open Mon-Wed 5pm-11pm. Thurs-Sat 11.30am-2.30pm. Fri-Sat 5pm-1am.

Bread Street Kitchen Weekend Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and Bread Street Kitchen’s weekend breakfast special is undeniably a great way to start one’s morning. From 7.30am to 10.30am, diners can help themselves to healthy, delicious food items like Avocado on Toast and a buffet spread of yoghurt, pastries, and juices. For those with larger appetites, the sumptuous English Breakfast Set is there to satisfy.
