Mention “Science Park” to anyone and you’d almost be sure dining options don’t come up in the resultant conversation. Until now, that is. With the opening of dining enclave Savourworld within the business tech district, the myriad of concepts in the cluster mean more dining experiences for diners, especially those working in the area. From gelato ice cream and Chinese noodles to burgers and Turkish kebab, here are our picks:
Blue Lotus Chinese Noodle Bar
Sister restaurant to the established Blue Lotus Chinese Eating House in Sentosa’s Quayside Isle and Blue Lotus Chinese Grill House in Tanjong Pagar, this concept specialises in Chinese la mian and accompanying dumplings. Feast on filling noodle dishes such as the Signature Crispy Pork Lard Truffle Noodles ($12, with a complimentary tea-flavoured egg during lunch), and big eaters can add meat skewers to their orders after 5pm. Fans of Blue Lotus’ famed Pomelo Chilli Crab will also be pleased to find the dish in the form of xiao long bao folded with mincemeat – a succulent side to go with the noodles.
Blue Lotus Chinese Noodle Bar is located at 2 Science Park, #01-26 Savourworld, Singapore 118222, p. +65 6988 0880. Opens Mon-Fri 11.30am – 3pm, 5pm – 10pm.
Licktionary
Artisanal ice creams get spiced up at Licktionary, the perfect cool escape from a warm afternoon within Savourworld. Each flavour is a mix of the usual tastes you’d find at an ice cream parlour with a unique ingredient that somehow gels well with the offering. Our favourites included Peace, a vanilla and chrysanthemum blend that was just the right amount of light and sweet to the palate, as well as a locally-inspired Kampung consisting of coconut, gula Melaka, and pandan.
Licktionary is located at 2 Science Park, #01-34 Savourworld, Singapore 118222, p. +65 6252 1822. Opens Mon-Fri 12pm – 7.30pm, Sat 12pm – 6pm. Closed Sun.
Modus
Looking for something filling on the healthier side of things? Modus offers up hearty quinoa bowls based off different Asian cuisines, all priced at $7.50 (with an additional $0.50 for an onsen egg topping). Feast on aburi salmon, tsukemono, sauteed crabmeat, corn kernels with furikake in the Japanese Bowl, or grab the Korean Bowl for sauteed beef, onions, kimchi, marinated sprouts and fried wonton skin – flavourful bowls for a quick, neat lunch.

Cha Tra Mue
With Thai milk tea all the rage these days, it’s no surprise that Savourworld brought in one to beat the heat on a weekday afternoon. Cue Cha Tra Mue, an old Thai tea company since 1945, which has made its way to sunny Singapore in recent years. Their latest outpost at Savourworld features their star Rose Tea and Cha Tra Mue Soft Serve, so head down for some sweet pick-me-ups.

Ottoman Kebab & Grill
Having made Savourworld their new home after a spell in Changi, Ottoman Kebab & Grill is the home for Turkish bistro food. Feast on Pide Flat Bread fired over lava stones and paired with smooth Hummus, as well as juicy Iskender Mutton Kebab that will keep you coming back for more. Mondays to Fridays see a 1-for-1 Happy Hour for some beers, so knock back a few after long day’s work to match the food.

Ramen Atelier
If you’re looking to find creativity in your ramen head down to Ramen Atelier for offerings from Singapore’s first French-Japanese ramen bar, where chef-owner Andrew Ng used his skills and experience in French cuisine to put a unique spin on the noodles. You won’t find good ol’ tonkotsu broth here – popular dishes from the menu include the tomato-based Ramen Rouge, named for its striking red colour, and the squid ink and miso-based Ramen Noir.

Feast on its signature Crispy 12-hour Belly of Pork ($16.90; 200g of pork belly confit, honey balsamic glaze, mashed potato and petit salad) and French Duck Leg Confit ($16.90; crispy duck leg, mashed potato, sautéed mushrooms, edamame and brown sauce), paired with wines from wine partner Blotto Bottles Wine Bar for a comforting meal.
