Drinking In Singapore’s CBD? Here’s Where to Go Each Day of the Work Week

Drop your briefcases and grab a glass! It’s time to put your work woes behind and escape to the safe haven that is drinks, no matter how far along the week you’re stuck at. From an evening of flavoursome oysters and whiskies on Monday to a sophisticated night of signature cocktails and live music on Friday, we’ve got your sanity well covered.

Humpback Oyster Mondays

Shucks, is it Monday again? Chase those blues away with all-day Happy Hour oysters at Humpback, one of few seafood restaurants that just keeps us coming back. At just $2 to $3 a pop, expect super-fresh succulent oysters like the fleshy Shigoku Fat Bastard, the curvaceous Totten Inlet, and the petite Kumamoto – all sourced from the Washington coast and beyond. Of course, don’t eat them alone. Elevate those briny flavours with speciality white spirit-based cocktails (Lobster Tail Bloody Mary, anyone?) and a varied collection of wines, whiskies, beers, and ciders.

Humpback is located at 18-20 Bukit Pasoh Rd, Singapore 089834, p. +65 9772 9896. Open Mondays till 12am.

Alfresco Tuesdays at The Black Swan

If you need a break to brave through a rough week ahead, look no further than The Black Swan’s Alfresco Tuesday for $9 drinks, $2 oysters, and darn soulful tunes by resident three-piece band Fuze Collective. Set under the stars in the restaurant’s lush garden patio, binge on rose coloured glass of life, draught beers, and house pours, as well as $12 signature cocktails like the Whisky Business and Bloody Your Own Mary. In fact, check out the overhauled menu by Chef Daniel Sia too, seeing yummy dishes like the Smoked Eel Pâté and Caviar served with housemade crackers.

The Black Swan is located at 19 Cecil St, Singapore 049704, p. +65 6438 3757. Open Tuesdays till 12am.

Cocktail Wednesdays at Oxwell & Co.

On hump day, make your way down to British gastropub Oxwell & Co. for $10++ drinks from 6pm till 8pm! Everything on tap is going out, from the Gin & Chronic and The Mule to the Pina Colada (roasted marshmallow!), Proper Job IPA, Cooper’s Pale Ale, Sapporo Lager, and Thundering Molly Cider. Seeing as it’s a Wednesday, ladies can also skip the bubblies for some special ladies cocktails – namely the tequila-loaded Mexicana Spritz and chocolatey Scarlet Lady – at only $10++ all night. How about some Westholme Beef Wagyu Steak Frites and Stick Date Pudding to go with those tipples?

Oxwell & Co. is located at 5 Ann Siang Rd, Singapore 069688, p. +65 6438 3984. Open Wednesdays till 12am.

Suits Thursdays at Capital Zouk

Set to amp up the mid-week party scene is Capital’s new programme mainstay SUITS Thursday, an industry night for finance, law, creative, and media professionals. Eligible patrons need only drop their name cards in to indulge on attractive 1-for-1 drink offers all through the night. What’s more, ladies get to be pampered with a complimentary flow of drinks from 9pm to 12am! On the decks, local DJs like Singapore urban funk legend Andrew Chow will be serving up a groovy blend of hip-hop, top 40s, and EDM that will have you busting out the moves on the dance floor like never before.

Capital Zouk is located at 3C River Valley Rd, #02-05 The Cannery, Singapore 179022, p. +65 6738 2988. Open Thursdays till 2am.
