From the meeting point at Rex Cinemas, one of the oldest movie theatres in Singapore, participants will be guided through the rich heritage of Mt. Sophia conservation area. Experience the calm architectural streetscape of the shophouses at Niven Road, and discover what lies at the peak of Mt. Emily. There, you will hear untold stories of the hills, of Mt. Emily Mansion, and of the early inhabitants and communities who form the very soul of Mt. Emily.
Find out the artist behind the sculptures in the garden, and get an exclusive opportunity to experience the artists’ studios at Emily Hill, a centre for the arts and business housed in one of the grandest and oldest surviving Victorian Villa on Emily Hill.
In this series, we will meet artist Sunar Sugiyou, whose works bear a remarkably distinctive take on identity and heritage. An established third generation Singaporean artist, Sunar constantly strive to explore new aesthetic visual languages. His works are very much sort after by both local and expatriate art enthusiasts.
