Relive some of your fondest memories at the theatre as The Philharmonic Winds, led by Music Director Dr. Leonard Tan, brings you an evening of musicals such as Miss Saigon and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera arranged for wind orchestra by Johan de Meij. Celebrating the talents of Singaporeans, The Philharmonic Winds is proud to present the world premiere of a special arrangement of some of Singapore’s best musicals by Cultural Medallion winner Iskandar Ismail. Come enjoy the memorable and beautiful songs from musicals such as Beauty World, Mortal Sins as well as Chang and Eng.
Benjamin Kheng, Fly Entertainment Artiste and musician from The Sam Willows, will light up the stage and amaze you with his rendition of songs from award-winning musicals – “Seasons of Love” from Rent, “Hopelessly Devoted To You” from Grease and “Circle of Life” from The Lion King. In addition, The Philharmonic Winds will also perform a medley from one of Singapore’s most successful Mandarin musicals, If There’re Seasons 《天冷就回来》,featuring music by Cultural Medallion recipient Dr. Liang Wern Fook (梁文福).
‘Circle of Life – A Night of Musicals’ is happening on 21 December at the Esplanade Concert Hall.
