Re:Dance Theatre strongly believes in nurturing dance artists for the evolving urban landscape in Singapore and as such, they encourage their dance artists to challenge themselves not only in the field of performing but in the field of choreography and creation.
Co:Lab was set up as a platform for the company’s artists to establish themselves as the next wave of Singaporean choreographers. They are encouraged to collaborate with various individuals from other arts medium to listen and learn from their voices.
This year’s installment of Co:Lab features Dapheny’s first full length choreographic work and showcases her collaborative effort with design individual Tan Wee Gene. She is hugely inspired by the increasing rise of shoebox flats in our nation and will be touching base on how space affects us as individuals, as a community, as a unit and as an artist. True to how the urban landscape inspires the company in their works, Dapheny reflects this back in her upcoming work
