The 2014 fall session of Groove Works will kick off on the 9th ofSeptember and run for 10 weeks of workshops and performances under the direction of British saxophonist Greg Lyons.
If you’re serious about pursuing your passion of creating real original modern jazz works this is your chance. Through intensive coaching in modern rhythmic and melodic forms, and deep investigation of modern repertoire, you will acquire an infinitely deeper understanding of your own potential as an articulate improviser or composer.
Places are now open for one select group, comprising a single member on each rhythm section instrument and a small selection of wind, voice, or string instruments.
Weekly performances will be at Blu Jaz Cafe, 3rd floor on Tuesdays 9pm starting 16th September.
Course fees are $1200 inclusive for the 10-week course.
