Dreamt of whizzing through the streets of Orchard Road in a McLaren 720S GT3? Or, better yet, to channel your inner Sebastian Vettel and taking home the big prize? A roaring start to the 2022 Singapore Grand Prix, HyperDrive Cities Festival presents a slew of adrenaline-pumping activities this weekend from 23 to 25 September 2022.
Look forward to an electrifying finale to the HyperDrive Cities Regional Championship, an entertainment line up of Singapore’s homegrown talents, an electric go-karting experience, plus a community simulated racing challenge with prizes and bragging rights on the line. All you’ve to do is head over to the shiny McLaren 720S GT3 supercar on display over at Scape.
HyperDrive Cities Regional Championship Finale
Cheer on the region’s top sim racers, as they take on a newly expanded Orchard Road Street Circuit – extended through Somerset and Dhoby Ghaut areas – for a chance to win from the prize pool of $10,000. Produced by the good folks at Legion of Racers, audiences are in for a treat as seasoned racers are put to the challenge with a 4.90km track, featuring a whopping 18 turns.
Join emcee Claire Jedrek, as well as shoutcasters Hong Tsui (managing director of 9tro) and Philibert Santhanaraj in the excitement – the top racer takes home S$3,500 in cash!
HyperDrive Cities Regional Championship Finale is happening Saturday, 24 Sep 2022, 8pm-10.30pm. Entry for ticket holders only.
HyperDrive Cities Festival Jam Party
Matching the high energy at the races, the festival gets lit up further with Singapore’s very best musicians, DJs and street dancers. Enjoy euphoric pop tracks that cemented RRILEY (formerly of indie-pop darlings, The Sam Willows) as a rising solo star, and dive into emotive stories turned into catchy hooks and tunes by Haneri (formerly known as Daphne Khoo). Pick up new moves as Rocio & Co. pumps up the stage with a street dance showcase, and party along with the multi-genre line-up of DJs Durio (co-founder, ATTAGIRL!), Cherish and NashD.
HyperDrive Cities Festival Jam Party featuring DJ Nash D and Cherish runs Friday, 23 Sep 2022, 8pm-10pm. HyperDrive Cities Pre Event Hospitality featuring RRILEY, Haneri, Rocio & Co and Durio runs Saturday, 24 Sep 2022, 7pm-8pm. Entry to ticket holders only.
Challenge the Sim Racing Experience and Win Prizes
Budding sim racers can get a headstart on next year’s championship with simulated races in the sleek supercar, McLaren 720S GT3, and at the HDC Gameplay Stations, an immersive motorsports-themed gameplay that completes the experience with augmented reality. Strap in for the latter and conquer various Gamemaster challenges for a chance to take home prizes like NFTs and collectibles.
HyperDrive Cities Sim Racing Experience and Challenge runs 23 Sep 5pm-8pm, 24 Sep 12pm-4pm, 25 Sep 12.30pm-5pm.
