Nook • Nowhere

Just opened in Tanjong Pagar’s bustling district, Nook is a vibrant multi-concept space housed in a charming shophouse on Craig Road. Developed by Reroot Asia, Nook spans three levels and offers contemporary European cuisine with Asian influences, curated wines and cocktails, and captivating art installations. Head Chef Koh Han Jie leads the culinary team, presenting dishes like Heirloom Tomatoes & Burrata (S$24) and 7 days dry-aged Aqina 1/2 Organic Chicken (S$42). The industrial and brutalistic interior design creates a modern ambiance, complemented by local art. On the second floor, Nowhere bar features eclectic cocktails and an event space, while the exclusive Members Lounge on the third floor offers VR golfing and cosy seating. Nook aims to redefine communal dining with its unique blend of culinary excellence and dynamic atmosphere.

NOU Noodle Bar

NOU Noodle Bar, the latest venture by Petites Ventures and Chef Petrina Loh, offers a fresh take on casual Asian dining. NOU features innovative dishes like Nou Umami Noodles (S$18) and Chicken Mazemen (S$25), as well as unique appetisers such as Beef Tongue Spam (S$19) and Pidan Mushroom Dumplings (S$13). The dynamic cocktail program, led by Cheryl Tng and Bernardine Chan, highlights creative drinks like the Tomato Tomato Martini (S$24) and Duck-Tini (S$24). Complemented by a diverse wine selection curated by Maxime Dacier, NOU promises an immersive dining experience in a neon-lit space adorned with local art by Hor Kwok Kin. Read our review here.

IL Clay Supper Club & Pizzeria

IL Clay Supper Club & Pizzeria, led by Chef Ciro Sorrentino, introduces a sophisticated dining experience inspired by the glamour of 1930s and 40s supper clubs. Offering Italian-Mediterranean cuisine, IL Clay features signature dishes like Sicilian Stuffed Squid (S$32), Pan-Seared Antarctic Cod (S$46), and Duck Leg Confit Cannelloni (S$32). Guests can enjoy all-day alfresco and indoor dining until 5 pm, transforming into an evening supper club with a la carte and set menus, accompanied by music and lively conversation.

Gourmet Park Kampong Bugis

Food Truck Nation has launched a second Gourmet Park pop-up at the iconic Camp Kilo site, transforming it into a vibrant gathering space for food and events. Open until the end of December 2024, this multi-concept food haven features five homegrown brands, exciting chef collaborations, and a variety of events. The line-up includes Breakfast by Carnaby with British fare, The Goodburger‘s plant-based burgers, Quattro‘s modern Italian pizzas and pastas, Meatsmith‘s American BBQ, and Backyard Bakers‘ famous brownies. Complementing the food are garden-inspired cocktails, Liberty Coffee, and a selection of beers and wines. The venue also hosts weekend barbecues, kitchen takeovers, outdoor parties, and family-friendly activities, offering a dynamic experience in lush surroundings.

1-Flowerhill

1-Flowerhill at 6 Imbiah Road reimagines a century-old conservation house into a lush lifestyle destination inspired by Monet’s Île aux Fleurs near Vétheuil. Nestled next to Sentosa’s Mount Imbiah, this new multi-concept site, developed by 1-Group, features three distinct venues: Wildseed Café, Wildseed Bar & Grill, and Camille. Wildseed Café offers a pet-friendly, floral-themed setting for casual dining, transforming into Wildseed Bar & Grill in the evening with a focus on locally-inspired cocktails and grilled specialties. On the second floor, Camille, a French-Japanese fusion restaurant, pays homage to Monet’s muse with a blend of refined French and subtle Japanese culinary arts crafted by Executive Chef Lamley Chua and Head Chef Loh Wai Lun.

Offbeat by Coq & Balls

Offbeat, the latest venture by Coq & Balls, recently opened its doors at Far East Square, introducing a unique fusion of Asian cuisine. Offering a refreshing escape from city life, Offbeat provides a laid-back setting ideal for daytime breaks or evening unwinding. With its Balinese-inspired decor and versatile seating options, it sets the stage for memorable dining experiences. Specialising in Asian fusion dishes, Offbeat’s menu promises a culinary journey with inventive appetisers and sumptuous main courses. Alongside exceptional dining, Offbeat offers enticing promotions including daily happy hour specials and exclusive ladies’ nights.

Go Rogue

By the same folks behind the famed sandwich place, 46Mittsu, Go Rogue is winning hearts again with its sinfully delicious sandos, irresistible salad and rice bowls. Some of your options when picking a delight from their day menu include, AEC ($14) loaded with cheese, avocado, scrambled eggs and gribiche; Hot Chix ($16) with cheese, cabbage slaw, pickled cucumber, buttermilk chicken, and a fiery Gochujang dip; as well as Lox ($18)
with creamy burrata cheese, avocado, smoked Salmon and pickled onions. Wash it all down with coffees by double up coffee, and unmissable fruit sodas. As the sun sets, elevate your evenings with the likes of Beetroot Burrata, Pork Ribs, and fluffy Tiramisu. Ready to go rogue? We know we are!

Choon Hoy Parlor

With The Masses moving over to Capitol Kempinski, Chef Dylan, together with Chefs Benji Chew and Renee Tang, brings his brand new culinary concept serving Singapore Soul Food to Beach Road. Choon Hoy Parlor, affectionately named after his mother, seeks to warm our hearts and palate (and pockets!) with affordable and comforting dishes recreated through a contemporary lens. Start with CHP Signature Our Rojak, Our Own Way (S$8.90++) which includes everything from youtiao, jicama, and ginger flower, to their house special rojak ice cream. The 16hrs Bone in Coffee Angus Short Rib (S$69++ for 600-700g) is a fork tender delight, and the CHP X Jelebu Signature Dry Laksa V2.0 (S$18.90++, serves three) comes with Chef Renee’s secret rempah, taupok, and juicy fresh cockles.

A Slow Cup Café

A Slow Cup Café, nestled within the Painted Nail Bar, offers a serene escape from the hurried pace of modern life. This hidden gem invites patrons to savour espresso-based specialty coffee, or tea, while indulging in nail care. With a focus on the beauty of deceleration, A Slow Cup crafts each brew with a philosophy of stillness and simple pleasures. Their signature blend, Mellow Magic, combines flavours of stone fruits, demerara brown sugar, caramel, and milk chocolate, evoking the comfort of a soothing afternoon. The café’s restful interior complements an ever-changing menu of pastries and cookies, including With Love, Maxine’s weekly cookies and babka slices. Toby’s Estate

Boasting a sleek new look, Toby’s Estate reopens with aromatic new additions to the menu. Taking their coffee seriously, the brand sources directly from farmers and even works with them to create new exciting offerings. From the Freezus Menus, enjoy a burst of coconut and banana in the Monteblanco Tropical (S$12++) and sip on the limited edition Pandan Waffle coffee, with sweetness without the sugar. Coffee aficionados will love the range of filtered Panama Coffee (S$30++) such as the Kotowa Estate, Las Brujas Lot#1315, blooming with flavours of orange, elderflower, and yuzu.

Another Bar

Another Bar, nestled in the heart of the city, offers an unforgettable night out with its industrial design, mod-Asian fare, and lively atmosphere. This snazzy enclave caters to all occasions, whether it’s a casual evening, a lively start, or a memorable nightcap. Patrons can enjoy a menu filled with crowd-pleasers like Dashi Seaweed Fries (S$16), Sze Chuan Popcorn Chicken (S$18), and decadent Foie Gras Terrine (S$20). The dynamic space, adorned with playful neon signs and interactive features like beer pong tables and a DJ booth, invites guests to unleash their inner child.
