Living With Des Wong: A Michel Legrand Tribute

‘Ever since I was a boy, my ambition has been to live completely surrounded by music. My dream is not to miss out anything. That’s why I’ve never settled on one musical discipline. I love playing, conducting, singing and writing, and in all styles. So I turn my hand to everything – not just a bit of everything. Quite the opposite. I do all these activities at once, seriously, sincerely and with deep commitment.’

So says Michel Legrand, whose award-winning music is as hard to pigeonhole as it is to perform. Graduating with honors from the Paris Conservatory under legendary musicians like the pianist, Nadia Boulanger, Legrand continued a distinguished career performing and writing in classical, contemporary, film, and jazz genres. He began to sing atop his piano work in 1964, becoming one of the most inimitable sing & play musicians known to the world. In his eighties, Legrand continues to perform with musicians of diverse backgrounds, and lives in Bécon_les_Bruyères, France.

Join Singapore-based musicians, Des Wong and Serena Sharrock as they present to you the magic that is Michel Legrand. Also participating in the event are Aymeric Desbazeille, Marc Fischer, and Clara Montagne, friends from Singapore’s French community.

Tickets cost $10 and are available at The Arts House box office. The show is scheduled to start from 8pm till 9pm. For more information and the programme, click [here](http://www.theartshouse.com.sg/Programmes/EventPage.aspx?EventID=3601).
