Nine Years Theatre presents The Lower Depths, Russian playwright Maxim Gorky’s most influential play – on stage in Mandarin!
2015 Life! Theatre Awards ‘Production of the Year’ winner, Nine Years Theatre continues its year with a poignant and relevant masterpiece, The Lower Depths – one of the most influential plays by Russian playwright Maxim Gorky. This production is translated, adapted and directed by Nelson Chia, NYT’s Artistic Director and consecutive 2-year winner for ‘Best Director’ award (2014 and 2015 Life! Theatre Awards).
The Lower Depths features NYT Ensemble Project core members, Mia Chee, Hang Qian Chou, Neo Hai Bin and Jean Toh, together with guest artists Koh Wan Ching, Jonny Ng and Tay Kong Hui. The creative team comprises of Lighting Designer Dorothy Png, and Sound Designer and Composer Chong Li-Chuan. It is managed by Tennie Su as the Production Stage Manager and Tan Xiang Yi as Assistant Stage Manager.
The event will run from 23 July (Thu) – 2 August (Sun) 2015 at various timings at the Drama Centre Black Box @ National Library Building.
Timings: Tue – Sat: 8pm, Sat & Sun: 3pm
Each run will last 2 hours, no intermission.
