Immerse in the fine art of wine appreciation guided by Basso at this highly anticipated dinner held at Ristorante Amarone. The Italian-born, Swiss-based wine virtuoso is one of only five sommeliers in the world to have won both the European and global titles for ‘Best Sommelier’. Crowned ‘Best Sommelier of the World’ in 2013 by The Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (A.S.I.), Basso is the current holder of the world’s best sommelier title until the triennial competition is held again in 2016. World renowned for his extraordinary palate and experience in the field of rare and collectible wines, Basso is one of only a handful of oenology experts to have reached the finals of international competitions eight times in his career.
At the exclusive wine appreciation dinners, Basso will present a selection of handpicked vintages paired with a special menu designed by the guest chef of the evening, Davide Maci of The Market Place Restaurant in Como, Italy.
