The guitar virtuoso Sungha Jung is coming back to Singapore for his sixth headlining show this May. Hailed by many guitarists and musicians as the finest teenage fingerstyle guitarist in the world, Sungha’s renditions of contemporary, jazz, broadway and classical tunes have been viewed over 400 million times on Youtube.
Fans who watched last year’s SG50 show at the Esplanade will remember Sungha’s arrangement and performance of hits by JJ Lin, Tanya Chua, and Stefanie Sun, songs that he’ll be performing again in 2016. In particular, his YouTube cover of Kit Chan’s Home is the most-viewed instrumental version of the song, watched over 350,000 times all over the globe.
For this upcoming concert, Sungha will be ably supported by Singapore’s very own guitar virtuoso, Neil Chan. Come expecting a strong showing of solo and duet guitar music featuring a carefully-chosen set list of originals and crowd favorites!
Sungha Jung World Tour is happening on Saturday 28 May, 7.30pm at Kallang Theatre. Tickets are priced between $46 and $96, and are available now at SISTIC.
