Founded in West Berlin in 1951, the Berlin International Film Festival, also known as the Berlinale, is one of the world’s leading film festivals. Every year, up to 400 films are shown in several sections, representing a comprehensive array of the cinematic world and around twenty of those films compete for the award called the Golden Bear – the highest prize awarded for the best film at the Berlinale. This January at the Screening Room, celebrate some of those winners, chosen by an international jury of their peers.
