Party like it’s 1965 with ONE (Singapore). This October, the lights go low as the glitz and glamour of post-colonial Singapore emerge for night out at the ONE Ball 2015. Organised by ONE (SINGAPORE), to commemorate the charity’s 10th anniversary, the gala will also celebrate Singapore’s jubilee and transports guests back to the early days of independence with the theme “Party Like It’s 1965”.
In addition to music by legendary voices Robert Fernando and Michelle Poh (Michelle & The Stuff Toys), ONE (SINGAPORE) will recognise civic and corporate heroes with the presentation of The ONE (SINGAPORE) Awards. Celebrated actress and and DJ Vernetta Lopez – who was also ONE (SINGAPORE)’s longest-serving president – is the Guest of Honour. An educational line-up of programmes will demonstrate the non-profit’s deep-rooted core values on a night aimed to raise awareness and encourage actions to Make Poverty History.
Guests can expect an exciting night of entertainment and raffle prizes, all packed in the familiarity of Singapore during the 1960s. In addition, bronze busts of Singapore’s Founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, sculpted by World Toilet Organisation’s Jack Sim, are up for auction, with bidding prices starting from SGD 5,000. So come dressed to impress and bring home a keepsake to remember the night!
The ONE Ball is happening on Saturday, 31 October 2015, from 7pm to 11pm, at Hotel Fort Canning Singapore. Ticket sales available at http://tob2015.peatix.com/.
