[MoCA@Loewen](http://www.mocaloewen.sg/) is honoured to present TheRetrospective Exhibition – A Revisit to Chinese Contemporary Art.
MoCA , the Museum of Contemporary Art is delighted to announced that on 10 July 2015, a group exhibition of 10 top contemporary Chinese artists will be held on the premise, showcasing exemplary works that illustrates the unique style and philosophy of each of these artists in the spirit of Chinese contemporary art.
In this stellar group exhibition, MoCA has specially selected 10 renowned Chinese contemporary artists to represent a spectrum of Chinese contemporary art that covers different genres from abstract, expressionism to hypersurrealism.
These 10 artists include esteemed masters such as Liu Kuo Sung, Li Shan, Zhu Wei to icons of Chinese contemporary the likes of Cai Zhi Song, Xue Song, Jiang Shou, Wu Shao Xiang, Mao Shu Hui, Zhang Lin Hai and Chen Liu.
Representative works of these artists will be featured from modern ink paintings by the father of modern ink painting and pioneer in modern ink painting, Liu Kuo Sung, whimsical yet satirical sculpture that typifies the style of Jiang Shou ; the iconic grid painting by pioneer of Chinese contemporary artist Li Shan that set forth the Chinese contemporary art movement and futuristic floating cloud installation suspended by magnet by Cai Zhi Song whereby its monumental size equivalent was featured in the Vienna Biennale in 2011 .
The artwork chosen for this exhibition represents the definitive artistic characteristics of each of these artists, depicting the artistic motivations and progression of these artists. Collectively, these artworks and these artists form, develop and consolidate the Chinese contemporary art as one of the most important and exciting development in the international art world.
Through a carefully curated assembly of artworks that defines the artistic concept, composition, medium of these 10 artists , the retrospective exhibition provides a comprehensive overview of the multifaceted nature of Chinese contemporary art and enables the viewers to understand why and how Chinese contemporary art has captured the fascination and adoration around the world.
The event will commence on 10 July 2015 and run till 10 August 2015.
