Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn)

Centuries old and known locally as Wat Chaeng, Wat Arun is one of Bangkok’s most beautiful landmarks. Be in awe of mind-boggling architecture built in ancient Khmer style, while admire the beautifully decorated pieces of coloured glass and Chinese porcelain. Climbing up is extremely tricky as the stairs are very steep! An important to thing to note is to dress appropriately, as Wat Arun still serves as a place of worship for Buddhists.

Directions: Take a river boat from Sapphan Taksin boat pier to Pier 8 for 3 Baht.
