Tropika Presents Gabriele Poso

Tropika, Singapore’s conscious music initiative, is welcoming back Gabriele Poso, the Italian multi-instrumentalist who is classically trained at Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico and the notably Escuela National De Arte in Cuba, for another masterful Latin infused live performance. The daytime event is being held at the ultra-cool rooftop poolside premises of El Chido, Pullman Singapore Hill Street, on April 27, 2024 where from 2-10pm attendees are being treated to a diverse array of music performances together with refreshing drink and creative Mexican cuisine options to choose from.

Gabriele Poso’s signature mix of high energy Afro-Latin rhythms, operatic vocal effects and disco laden beats with his hard-hitting conga routines has led him and his band to perform og4n some the biggest stages and venues across the world with support from BBC Radio 6, Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide to Radio Rai Italia. Poso has album releases on prominent labels like Soundway, BBE, Yoruba and most recently with Wonderwheel. Poso is hot on the controls for a new album releasing later this year, so be sure to hear snippets of it on the 27th! You’re in for an aural treat…

Keeping in line with the Afro-Latin spectrum, we’ll have dj support from the First Lady of Salsa Y Comida May May, 100%’s main man SWTLKR, and favourite selectors Anand and Submerge with our own Ramesh. The performances promise mind blowing and body shaking sounds from Cumbia and Salsa to Brega funk and beyond. So, bring your swimmers and sonic appetite, and see you there soon!
