Peranakan Afternoon Tea at Four Seasons Hotel
Bring your mum back to the good old days with an authentic Peranakan Afternoon Tea at the Four Seasons Hotel, available at the hotel’s One-Ninety Bar. This Mother’s Day, chef-owner Malcolm Lee of Candlenut – the world’s first Michelin-starred Peranakan restaurant – brings our mums an elevated menu of beloved Straits Chinese dishes at the Four Seasons Hotel. Feast on nostalgic finger foods like Kaya and Butter Toasts, colourful kuehs, as well as Chinese-style Butter Cookies. For something savoury, Chef Lee dreams up a tantalising Roti Jala that comes with a lacy coconut crepe and Mum’s Signature Chicken Curry.
To spoil your mum in style, bar manager Gabriel Carlos has crafted a trio of locally-inspired cocktails that give your mum’s favourite childhood drinks a boozy kick. The Kopi-O is a robust blend of coffee-infused Mancino vermouth, 12-year Auchentoshan Scotch whisky, and cherry liqueur. Meanwhile, the Pandan Kueh takes the classic pandan-coconut combination and infuses it with Altos tequila. And if your mum loves bubbles, the Kampong Fizz is a gorgeous cocktail of butterfly pea tea and citrusy gin-based elixir.
The deets: The Peranakan Afternoon Tea is available on weekends throughout April and May 2021, served at One-Ninety Bar from 2pm to 5pm. The Weekend Afternoon Tea with craft cocktails is priced at S$68 per person, and S$48 without cocktails. Both tea sets come with a choice of Candlenut Signature Tea Blend, Gryphon tea & Lavazza Coffee.
One-Ninety Bar is located at Four Seasons Hotel, 190 Orchard Blvd, Singapore 248646, p. +65 6831 7671. Open daily 8am – 10.30pm.
