This week, we’re definitely past the half year mark, so why not switch things down in terms of life’s pacing? There’s a comedy show to tickle your funny bones, an art exhibition to satisfy your creativity, as well as live boogey tunes from local indie band Mantravine. Comedy Masala presents: JINX YEO [SIN] – Farewell Show
You know what they say – a laughter a day, keeps the doctor away. And that cannot be more true when you hit the mid-week blues. Show support for local comedian Jinx Yeo (whose viral video hit 25 million views) as he will be headlining his final show in Singapore at Comedy Masala this Wednesday, alongside 12 other humorous talents. It’s a sad day for our stand-up scene, so head down for the good times while it lasts.

M1 Open Stage
Explore the creativity and passion of international dancers at the M1 CONTACT Dance Festival’s Open Stage. Highlights of the 12 shortlisted tales include ‘Tennis – Now or Never’, which narrates a tennis player’s obsession with victory, and ‘Monkey in a Diaper’ by Reisa Shimojima of Japan. With three separate programmes, this is your time to watch and be watched.

The Cheeky Launch Partaay – Gettin’ Cheeky wit it!
After a months-long Smith Street Taps pop-up (while Chinatown Complex was undergoing renovation) at Cheeky, the cafe-bar is finally ready to stand on their own feet. It’s TGIF at Cheeky’s official launch party this Friday with one for one beers from 5pm to 9pm, happy hour prices 9pm till closing, and even cold brew and bubble tea for the teetotallers. Dope music and lame dad jokes also included.

What do you really understand of contemporary art in our everyday lives? If your answer is little to none, head on down to Gillman Barracks for a three-day art and lifestyle festival to learn more. Not only can you bring home locally-designed items, but also discover more about contemporary art via educational workshops and film screenings, where industry experts such as YouTuber Brenda Tan will also make an appearance.

Even after Aladdin came out with the live-action feature last few months ago, we’re going to feel a bout of Disney fever once again with its theatrical counterpart. Sing to award-winning tunes like ‘Friends like Me’ and ‘A Whole New World’ in this magical musical experience while the breathtaking sets and special effects are set to blow you away. Literally.
