Stoked for September? So are we. The five things we plucked out for you this week include a boozy chocolate masterclass, an aesthetically riveting film festival, and a world-class comedian’s stint in town!
A Week with Rémy Martin: Cognac & Chocolate with Laurent Bernard
A Week With Rémy Martin is a celebration of the premium French Cognac. One of the highlights is definitely the chance to meet French chocolatier Laurent Bernard, whose brand has won numerous awards as the best chocolatier in Singapore. Try Bernard’s incredible chocolate creations and learn more about his process and scrumptious secrets, all while savouring a glass of Rémy Martin.
This event is held at Laurent’s Cafe on 3 September from 6.30pm. Entry for this event costs $80 nett and tickets can be purchased at Laurent’s Cafe, Robinsons The Heeren, Tel: 6235 9007. For more information, check out the event page here.
Singapore International Festival Of Arts 2015: CABANONS
Walking a (literal) tightrope between the circus and contemporary art is one of the highlights for this year’s SIFA: Cabanons. Witness artists, aerialists, tightrope walkers, acrobats, hoopers, jugglers, musicians and the ringmaster travel around, rotating themselves amongst three tents. With the sound from neighbouring tents also pouring into your own, we expect a curious experience filled with anticipation and the sense of constant, exciting transformation. Besides, who doesn’t love a great circus spectacle?
CABANONS is taking place from 2- 6 September at 8pm at Bayfront Avenue, Marina Bay. To purchase tickets, please click here.
A Design Film Festival
Touching on design subcultures like architecture, fashion, and product design, this year’s A Design Film Festival features 10 films handpicked from over 150 submissions, with many screened in Asia for the first time. We’re particularly excited that the films will be screened at the swanky Capitol Theatre, where you can catch picks like Very Semi-Serious, a film that takes a look at The New Yorker magazine’s legendary cartoon department, or Dior And I, bringing viewers deep inside the fashion house.
Films will be screened at the Capitol Theatre from 5-6 Sept and at Shaw Theatres Lido from 11-13 Sept. Tickets will be available at $18 per film. For the full schedule of screening dates and times, visit the event website here.
Dylan Moran Live In Singapore
Dylan Moran brings his ‘deceptively rambling’ style of comedy to our shores for the first time on the 5th of September. Beloved for his performances in the UK television show ‘Black Books’ (incidentally, his show co-star Bill Bailey performed here last year and brought the house down), look forward to evening of Moran’s brilliance with a show that has won rave 5-star reviews everywhere from London to Kazakhstan.
Dylan Moran will perform on Saturday, 5th September 2015, at the University Cultural Centre, NUS. Tickets are priced from $88++, and can be purchased here.
