Originally helmed by Jamie React and Dhakka, [Tropic Lab](https://www.facebook.com/thetropiclab) made its debut in Singapore’s burgeoning music scene in 2013. Their second gig saw them playing alongside Haan, where they discovered that his sound complements the Tropic Lab identity they were working towards. The duo soon turned into a trio with Haan on board and they have since carved their own spot in the local nightlife industry.
Despite each member having their own distinct sound, [Tropic Lab](https://www.facebook.com/thetropiclab)’s ability to seamlessly blend all three together proves to be the winning formula that has quickly garnered them a following of their own. Recognizing the potential that [Tropic Lab](https://www.facebook.com/thetropiclab) has to offer, local house/techno institution, kyō, offered them residency in 2015. This marks a major milestone in the collective’s profile and also presented them greatly sought-after opportunities to collaborate with established DJs and producers from around the globe.
[Tropic Lab](https://www.facebook.com/thetropiclab) cites DJs and producers such as Redshape, Rødhåd, Dixon and, Âme as great influences on their sound as a collective. This is evident from the groove-laden and timeless beats one can expect to be served at every Tropic Lab session. Tropic Lab is tirelessly passionate about their craft and is not afraid to explore and include new elements of house/techno in their sets while still maintaining their core identity.
Tropic Lab believes in sharing quality music with those who appreciate it and they credit the positive vibes and energy emitted from this like-minded community as the main driving force that fuels Tropic Lab in this journey of theirs. As we all know, positive vibes are infectious and the flow of energy is transferable, so one can expect Tropic Lab to stick around for the long haul.
Tropiclab’s 2nd Anniversary is happening on Saturday, 21 November 2015, from 11pm at Club Kyo. Admission is $20 for ladies, and $25 for men (inclusive of 1 drink).
