ArtScience on Screen: Textures of the City - Taming The Garden (2021) *Southeast Asian Premiere*

In conjunction with the Singapore Pavilion at the 17th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia, and Archifest Singapore, ArtScience Museum is proud to present a curated programme of feature films and short films as a love letter to cities.

Ranging from film festival picks, cult-classics and verité-style documentaries, these films highlight inequality in cities and cast gazes onto those who fall through the cracks in urban planning. At the same time, these films serves as a reminder of the beauty of human relationships and how they can be harnessed in urban design to shape a more inclusive society.

A powerful portrait of inequality – a former Georgian prime minister ‘collects’ exotic trees. To get them, trees are uprooted, electric cables shifted and new roads paved – a chilling reminder or how the rich remake cities in their own image.
