ARTWALK Little India

ARTWALK LITTLE INDIA is a multidisciplinary art festival set in the cultural precinct of Little India from 19 to 23 January. A collaboration between LASALLE College of the Arts and Singapore Tourism Board (STB) with support from the Little India Shopkeepers and Heritage Association (LISHA), this festival aims to bring communities of people around Singapore together by showcasing the rich history, tradition and culture of Little India through stories, art and exploration.

Journey along the ARTWALK trail and immerse yourself in captivating artworks created by students and alumni of LASALLE, as well as established arts groups. Indulge your senses with mixed media murals, video-mapping projections, the rhythmic beats of traditional Indian percussion instruments or creative fusions of Indian and Western styles of music. Be transported to a world of Hindu gods and goddesses, as legends come to life through stories told within the walls of one of Singapore’s historic monuments.

Come see Little India’s lanes, alleyways and obscure areas through artistic lenses and join us on this brand new trail of exploration and fun. With an exciting programme lineup throughout the 5 days, ARTWALK LITTLE INDIA is an event not to be missed this January!

ARTWALK Little India is happening from 19 January to 23 January 2016 at Little India Precinct. Admission is free. For enquiries, please call 6496 5000 or email [email protected].

This event is part of Singapore Art Week 2016.

Gary is one of those proverbial jack of all trades… you know the rest. When not writing about lifestyle and culture, he dabbles in photography, graphic design, plays four instruments and is a professional wearer of bowties. His greatest weakness: spending more money on clothes than he probably should. Find him across the social world as @grimlay
