Beyond Beauty: Our Glow Guide to Millenia Walk

Featuring an eclectic mix of bespoke apparel labels, unique home and living offerings, and fab food and beverage brands, Millenia Walk is definitely not your typical mall with the familiar high-end/high-street labels despite being in the heart of town. We checked out this lifestyle haven recently and actually went quite gaga over their resident beauty and wellness brands (we’re including the guys in this statement), and here’s why:
Neal’s Yard Remedies – #01-75
The UK’s leading organic health and beauty care brand has finally landed on our shores. Green beauty devotees would be glad to know that they use ethically sourced organic plant-based ingredients in their products and are approved by animal welfare bodies like PETA. Try their award-winning, multi-use (cleanser, exfoliator, balm, and masque) Wild Rose Beauty Balm ($88, 50g) and the Frankincense Intense Cream ($138, 50g), which works wonders for aging skin. The Purifying Face Wash ($38, 100ml) for men thoroughly cleanses the skin, lifting impurities away to prepare it for shaving. The store also has a therapy room for facials.

Aesop – #01-43
Visiting Aesop’s store in Millenia Walk with its slightly dim lighting and neutral-coloured interiors had a really calming effect on us. Established in Melbourne in 1987, Aesop uses both plant-based and laboratory-made ingredients of the highest quality and proven efficacy in their range of products for hair, skin, and beauty. Their best sellers are definitely products in the signature Parsley Seed range, and we have a particular fondness for the Cleansing Masque ($51, 60ml) and Facial Cleansing Oil ($79, $200ml). Don’t hesitate to seek the opinion of their trained consultants or to test their products at the store – these guys are very generous with free samples as well!

Senteurs de Provence – #01-77
Birthed from a love of the traditional perfumes of Grasse, Senteurs de Provence (French for Scents of Provence) stocks boutique perfume from the perfume capital of the world. Scent seekers might recognize the biggest name here: Parfumerie Fragonard. Ladies, for something unique, give their fresh and bright Mimosa Blossoms ($51, 50ml) a spritz. The boys will like Désert ($89.50, 100ml) – think saffron middle note, plus oud and tonka bean for the base – while the wine lover in us fell for Ginestet’s Sauvignonne ($198, 100ml) with notes of Bordeaux white wine, white grape, and white peach. Other brands available include Detaille, Jardin de France, and Berdoues.

Salon Runway – #02-48
The eponymous runway divides and connects the different spaces in this sleek and sophisticated salon: a hair spa, chambers for cuts and chemicals, a chi chi mini bar, and a private room (no wonder there are a number of local celebrities in and out of the place). Whether your tresses require a pampering blowout (from $35) or a change in hue (from $125), you’re in good hands with Salon Runway’s team of fun-loving hair professionals. Tip: their hair and scalp therapy (from $75) is also stuff of hairdressing legends, so give it a go if you busy bees are in need of pure rest and relaxation.

The Naturally Better Company – #02-46
We’ve found a new to-go place for manicures, ’nuff said. The Naturally Better Company uses the mother of luxury and eco-friendly nail polish brands, Priti NYC. Available for retail from $17.70, the non-toxic nail polish range is fast drying, chip-resistant, and 5-free, rendering it completely safe for kids and mums-to-be. This eco-luxury boutique is also the sole retailer of rms beauty, highly raved by make-up pros, in Singapore. All products in the line are formulated with raw, food-grade, and certified organic ingredients to nourish your skin – try their award-winning highlighter, the Living Luminizer ($68) for gorgeous, glowing skin. They’ve also brought in organic and vegan Hurraw! lip balms (from $9.10).

SK-II Boutique Spa by Senze Salus – #02-54
Marrying global skincare brand SK-II and Senze Salus, a homegrown skin-care and luxury lifestyle specialist, the SK-II Boutique Spa offers a comprehensive facial treatment (from $160) menu that caters to a wide range of skin types and conditions. Imagine lying back in their famed Senzational Beds specially designed to induce relaxation and reduce cortisol levels (stress hormones), with a highly skilled therapist attending to your countenance; we’d be surprised if you don’t enter slumber mode at some point. The kicker? The spa boasts a SK-II Beauty Bar that allows guests to sample the full range of SK-II products!
