Lady Flic is the Music Director and head resident DJ at South East Asia’s stunning and celebrated venue, Potato Head Beach Club. She reps the best in underground music whether under the coconut trees at sunset or under the bright lights at the biggest high season events in Bali, onstage supporting stars such as Snoop Dogg, A-trak, MIA, Fatboy Slim, Justice, Kid Cudi, Foster the People, Derrick May & Kevin Saunderson, Empire of the Sun, Ed Banger Records, and getting personal props for her DJ skills from the likes of John Legend, Mark Ronson and the rapper Kurupt among others.
Originally from New Zealand, she rose to the top quickly in club and radio land, and so was chosen to take part in the Red Bull Music Academy in Dublin. Soon after she settled in London where she was based for 8 years, and playing legendary clubs such as Plastic People, 333, Fabric and Vibe Bar, as well as fronting a weekly pirate radio show. A vinyl junkie, she amassed a huge record collection through working at Goya Music, BBE, Reckless Records and IF Music among other notable record stores and labels.
After a visit to Bali in 2008, Flic decided to relocate to the Island of The Gods and soon after landed a DJ residency at Bali’s original sunset venue, Ku De Ta. After Potato Head Beach Club opened its doors in December 2010, Flic was invited to be a resident DJ, and within a year she was promoted to the vaunted position of Music Director and eventually Event Manager.
Potato Head was chosen as one of the world’s ‘Best Beach Bars and Clubs’ for the prestigious Gold Standard Bars 2013 awards featured in Conde Naste Traveller. Her position there recently got her invited to Asia Pacific’s leading music conference – the Sydney Electronic Music Conference, as a speaker.
As a DJ, Lady Flic serves up an eclectic and always fresh mix ranging from electronic to organic, disco to dubstep, jazz to hip hop, soul to boogie, reggae to rock, proper house music to hands-in-the-air party jams.
