Cool Parents, Bring Your Kids to Singapore Children’s Season 2016

Children's Season

This June, get the littlies away from the screen and mindless entertainment. Instead, put on your explorer’s boots and get them ready for the ninth edition of Children’s Season, which is chock full of exciting heritage, art, culture, and science events dedicated to delighting and enlightening the young ones.

From interactive activities, exhibitions, performances, and galleries, here’s our pick of the top child-friendly events that promises a fun time for the whole family:

Imaginarium: Over the Ocean, Under the Sea
Imaginarium

How well do we know our oceans? Imaginarium, the Singapore Art Museum’s annual children-focused exhibition, returns for its sixth year with an underwater theme as seascapes are reinterpreted by contemporary artists into tactile and interactive installation works, drawing your kids into the world of art as they experience the wonders of the deep blue.

Featuring works by seven artists across four floors of SAM’s annexe building, SAM at 8Q, immerse yourself in the whimsical worlds created by the likes of Janice Wong, Mulyana, Yuree Kensaku, and Krit Ngamsom. The exhibition is accompanied by film screenings, artist workshops and curator tours – participate in a knot-tying workshop; experience one of the artworks coming alive with a puppet show by Papermoon Puppet Theatre; and even learn how to make edible art with the team behind 2am: dessertbar.
