Hotel LKF By Rhombus: Boutique Living in Lan Kwai Fong, Hong Kong

When we popped by Hong Kong earlier this year for The Bar Awards Hong Kong, we were looking for a home base that, above all else, was convenient for all the bar-hopping we were going to do and secondly, a ultra-comfy space to crash out in.
And we definitely found it in Hotel LKF by Rhombus.
Extremely centrally located on Wyndham Street on the doorstep of nightlife enclave Lan Kwai Fong – don’t worry, you might have to elbow your way through the party people but you don’t hear the noise at all in the hotel -, it’s also five minutes away on foot from Central MTR and SoHo. In the same building, you’ll even find Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen, HK cocktail culture pioneer Lily & Bloom, and swanky steakhouse-bar Buenos Aires Polo Club.
Past the shiny, classy lobby, the property houses 95 spacious guestrooms and suites, a rooftop restaurant-bar Azure (also where you get your complimentary brekkie), a fitness centre, and a business centre. Averaging 650 square feet (60 square metres), our G600 LKF Deluxe Room comes with trappings like an illy espresso coffee machine, L’OCCITANE bathroom amenities, soft goose down & firm flexi pillows, and even a foot massage machine!
Decked out in sophisticated hues of dark blue and beige with dark wood furnishings, business travellers will be pleased with the 4-in-1 Business Assistant (print, scan, copy, and fax). I’m a sucker for large bathrooms – because there’s nothing worse than feeling all cramped up when doing all forms of business in the bathroom – and Hotel LKF doesn’t disappoint. Outfitted in neutral marble, it comes with a separate toilet, shower area, and bathtub.
All rooms also include the Handy, a device that allows you to tap on its unlimited 3G Internet and to make free local calls so you don’t have to worry about buying SIM cards at the airport. Free international calls to a handful of countries are also available.
The only thing that didn’t gel with the rest of our five-star experience was the very mediocre three-star standard breakfast – you’re better off hunting down hawker eats (like tomato noodles at Sing Heung Yuen) in the morning. But as far as cribs in Hong Kong go, we love this one for how spacious it is at the price you’re paying, considering the prime location.
