Midnight Shift 5th Anniversary feat. RØDHÅD (Dystopian, DE)
With Eddie Niguel , EJ Missy + Avneesh [LOOP]
Visuals by Burrows x Brandon Tay
Put your hand up. The Midnight Shift label and events organisation celebrates five years of existence with a ‘thank you’ party at underground basement club kyo. From a debut showing at Helipad in 2009 featuring Jerome Sydenham, Robert Owens and Xhin, Midnight Shift has journeyed well with 7 vinyl releases under the label’s belt to date and a commendable roster such as Recondite, Basic Soul Unit, Tapirus, Secret Cinema and Deetron.
For its 5th year milestone, Midnight Shift invites Berlin talent Rødhåd behind the Dystopian parties and label to Singapore for the first time, alongside Midnight Shift artist Eddie Niguel plus a double-serving of EJ Missy + Avneesh.
With his deep, powerful and melancholic style and perfect mixing technique of dub to techno and back to house, Rødhåd has respectfully risen the ranks from hosting his own open-air-parties in the outskirts of Berlin to become a regular at famous Berlin club Berghain and at festivals around the world. A name that can only expect to rise higher: Rødhåd.
Joining him will be pioneering Midnight Shift artist Eddie Niguel in anticipation of his new release on the label early next year, also featuring a remix by Locked Groove. Having gained ground through releases on labels such as Spagat, Get Physical and Danny Howell’s Dig Deeper, Eddie has been called one of ‘Asia’s fastest-growing DJs’ by Beatport. We look forward to another one of his deep yet driving techno sets flying the Singapore flag high.
Collaborators EJ Missy + Avneesh join decks this time round, pitting the different shades of tech-house yin and yang for our birthday bash.
Repping the visual front of the night from first beat to final refrain will be Burrows and Brandon Tay. Both need no further introduction as the lynchpins of Singapore’s small but incredibly talented visual community that has crossed international waters with work for the likes of Flying Lotus and Jimmy Edgar.
Public Admission $20 for ladies $25 for men (incl. 1 drink)
