Singapore Myanmar Film Festival (SMFF) promises to be bigger and better this year. For the first time, the Festival is open to filmmakers of Singaporean and Myanmar origins from across the globe; providing them with a platform to showcase their films on world stage.
The entries for the Festival are judged by internationally renown professionals in the field- Adam Alexander, Veteran Producer and award winner from BBC; Gabrielle Kelly, Global Media Consultant and Educator as well as Advisor to Tish School of the Arts at NYU; and Hamish Brown, Veteran Producer, presenter and director of Journey Promotions Ltd.
Five outstanding films were shortlisted for their cinematography, artistic direction, or other noteworthy qualities. Films include a socio-drama about a man eking out a living from a rubbish dump; little-known lives of youths who work in jade-mines under perilous conditions; a peek into the traumatized mind of a war veteran; a colourful account about the belief in supernatural powers; and an animation.
The Singapore Myanmar Film Festival 2015 Screening is happening on Sunday, 8 November 2015 at The Projector at two time-slots, 11am and 2.30pm. Admission for each is priced at $20, and tickets are available here.
