Morsels Adds Duck Kway Chup to Luncheon Lineup

Dempsey Hill might be a trek from the office, but Morsels’ heartwarming noodle lunch sets ($26, two courses) might just cure your midday blues. Chef Petrina Loh has just put on the Duck Kway Chup, undoubtedly inspired by the local favourite hawker dish, which is quite the switch up from the usual pork offal soup. Featuring duck braised in a nourishing blend of herbs with marinated duck liver and gizzards in a herbal duck soup, the noodle bowl also comes with tau kwa (beancurds ) marinated in shiro miso and aka miso, braised tea leaf egg, as well as a slightly spicy homemade celtuce (also known as celery lettuce) kimchi.

Hard Rock Café Debuts Rock’n Bowls

Jumping on the rice bowl bandwagon with their Rock’n Bowls, Hard Rock Café’s new limited-time offerings feature flavours from southern and western USA. Available now till 13 March 2018, highlights include the Southernwest Meatball Bowl – think Southwest and Cajun spiced brown rice topped with hot chorizo meatballs with a honey sriracha glaze, chili lime dressing, and grated cotija cheese – and the Jambalaya Bowl featuring Cajun spiced brown rice with the classic Louisiana stew.

A New Executive Lunch Menu at ATLAS

Looking for a more refined lunch spot? ATLAS’s latest lunch menu ($38 for two courses, $48 for three) is inspired by Lyon, the gastronomic French city known for its culinary traditions. Executive Chef Daniele Sperindo will be putting up dishes like the honeycomb veal tripe, pork andouillette, and double boiled white onions stew, a red mullet with ratte potatoes scales ‘A la Bocuse’, and ‘Bugnes’ fried crispy biscuit, topped with chestnut ganache, Mont Blanc style. Head Somelier Mason Ng has also curated a list of wines for pairing at $24 for two glasses and $30 for three.

The Macallan Unveils Classic Cut

If you’re a fan of single malt whisky, you might want to get your hands on a bottle of the newly launched Macallan Classic Cut, just in time for the festive season. A limited edition release inspired by previous well-loved expressions by the Speyside distillery, the Classic Cut was matured exclusively in American and European oak casks seasoned with Oloroso sherry from Jerez, Spain and bottled at 58.4% ABV. Look forward to a dram with a sweet nose of vanilla custard, ginger, and fresh oak; the palate suggests caramel, orange zest, and spicy nutmeg before tapering off with a long finish.

The Macallan Classic Cut is available at 1855 The Bottle Shop, The Oaks Cellars, Le Rouge, and La Casa Cubana, with a recommended retail price of $170+.

Sunday Brunch by the Bay at Bayswater Kitchen

If you love brunch, seafood and waterfront dining, the three come together at Bayswater Kitchen. British Chef de Cuisine Jack Allibone has created a true blue seafood spread with dishes like the Fisherman’s Potluck ($60 per person), Soft Shell Crab Benedict ($26), and the Lobster and Prawn Roll on a Brioche Bun ($38). Alternatively, diners will also find Chef Jack championing his English heritage with a quintessential Sunday Roast of Ribeye Beef ($45) and Free-Roaming Chicken ($36). Best part? There’s jazzy live entertainment by a two-piece acoustic band and even a recreational room for a little post-brunch table tennis or foosball.
