The second quarter of 2022 is heating up as restrictions across Singapore are relaxed. As juicy pork mainstays, luxurious lobster delicacies, and flavoursome cocktails take to the menu, this week we’re ready to let loose and award ourselves with all things indulgent.

Get an early start to the long weekend at Gibson cocktail bar, as they host award-winning Swedish bar Tjoget (No. 40 on The World’s 50 Best Bars 2021 list) from Sweden this week. A two-night exclusive on 13 and 14 April 2022, Tjoget’s Bar Manager Leo Lahti and Bartender Axel Soderstrom will be working alongside Gibson’s Principal Bartender Greg Camillo to present eight gin-based tipples (S$25++ each) that that celebrate unique regional ingredients. Highlights include the Grande Gimlet, boasting a blast of tropical flavours like coconut and lime, and the Cold Smoke, with Iribancha tea-infused gin, stout reduction, pear, and citrus.

Gibson’s special residency with Tjoget runs 6pm-10pm, 13 to 14  April 2022 at 20 Bukit Pasoh Rd, Level 2, Singapore 089834.

Step into Coach’s Chic Bagel Shop

In collaboration with Two Men Bagel House, Coach is turning the streets of Duxton Hill into a fashion runway. Inspired by the dynamic spirit of New York, the unique retail concept mirrors a NYC boutique stocked with the Coach’s latest Spring collection. Combining our two favourite things (shopping and food), the concept also brings with it new limited edition bites by local bagel joint Two Men Bagel House. The menu includes must-tries like the creamy and crunchy Big Apple Red Dot (S$7), the vegan Coach Evergreen (S$15) loaded with Avocados, Tomatoes and Basil, or the 1941 Catch (S$15) featuring Citrus House-cured Trout with Plain Cream Cheese and Fennel.

Finger-Lickin’ Lobsters at Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant

Lobster lovers rejoice! This month, the pasty crustacean is taking centre stage at Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant. For lunch, dig into the attractive Steamed Lobster with Sea Urchin Dumpling (S$12++, two pieces) which gets its red hue from a touch of beetroot juice, and is embellished with specks of edible gold. Next, munch on the crispy Deep-fried Lobster Vermicelli Roll (S$10++, two pieces) sweetened with a surprise avocado sauce, or slurp on the Lobster Crispy Rice Roll with Sea-urchin Sauce (S$30++) with seafood packed between rice sheets and drizzled savoury sauce. The buttery Wok-fried Western Rock Lobster with Onion ($118++), is the star of the show, perfect for sharing.

A Porky Affair at Bedrock Bar & Grill

Bedrock Bar & Grill is back with the second edition of its 2022 World Meat Series, bringing premium cuts and lesser- known global meats to the table. This time, grazing our palates is the tender and succulent Dingley Dell Suffolk Red Pork, from the East Coast of Suffolk. Assessed by a team of leading chefs, producers, and scientists, expect nothing but quality and flavour as you sink your teeth in The Suffolk Red 5-Course Dinner Tasting (S$168++, Sundays to Thursdays). On the menu you’ll find a Charcuterie Plate loaded with slow-cured cold cuts and pickled cucumber, applewood- smoked Bacon Wrapped Scallops, cherry sauce doused Prune Stuffed Pork Tenderloin with sautéed fingerling potatoes, and more.

A Limited Edition Sake Tasting at Ishinomaki Grill & Saké

In a bid to preserve the saké brewing tradition of Akita, Japan’s Akita University and five breweries from the Daisen City have come together to bring an exciting saké collection. The Evening Stars collaboration features the Dewatsuru, Hideyoshi, Chiyomidori, Kinmon Akita and Kariho distilleries, each one offering the prefecture’s unique rice and yeast strains in the mix. Be amongst the first in Singapore to taste the collection with a guided tasting (S$85 per pax) with Ishinomaki’s saké sommelier. Fuel up with the perfect food pairings for a perfect lunch. The series is produced in limited quantities with only 1000 sets available.
