Vanishing Cultures

Vanishing Cultures showcases the work of Jaina Mishra, an award winning photographer, cultural speaker and writer. Her soulful portraits of tribal and ethnic minorities have been exhibited in Montreal, Mumbai and Singapore, including a series titled Sounds of Shanti at Esplanade Singapore in 2013.

Also showcased in this exhibition are antique textiles, jewellery and folk paintings created by nameless artists from the vanishing cultures. Some of the pieces are museum quality pieces while others are extremely rare examples in their category.

Over 120 decorative and collectible pieces from South Asia – from India to Indonesia – will be exhibited alongside Mishra’s photos that capture the spirit of vanishing cultures of the region.

Museum quality Sumatran Tampans, Heirloom Ikat Patolas, rare Phad paintings, exotic Naga beads, and several once-in-a-lifetime finds will be available for acquisition on a first-come first-serve basis.
