Vimanmek Mansion

Vimanmek Mansion is a converted museum paying homage to the late King Rama V. Constructed entirely out of golden teak, the building was originally from Ko Sichang in the Chonburi province, however it was rebuilt in the Dusit Palace in 1900. There are some really cool exhibits like Queen Sirikit’s amassment of handicraft masterpieces created by rural people, and interesting stuff like King Bhumibol’s photography, paraphernalia of rank, etc. Do look out for the Traditional Thai dancing shows from 10.30am to 2pm.

When Joel’s not partaking in one of his shameless eating sessions, he likes to think of himself as a sponge – absorbing the mysteries and beauty of our world – be it through a good book or a wacky jaunt in a foreign country.
