Shun by Yanagiya Welcomes Chef Masashi Yamada in Bangkok
Bangkok gourmets are in for a rare treat at Shun by Yanagiya, where third-generation owner of famed parent restaurant Yanagiya Chef Masashi Yamada will be doing a two-night kitchen takeover next month. Widely hailed as the world’s best Japanese restaurant, two-Michelin-starred Yanagiya is known for its traditional irori cuisine – the grilling of wild game over a sunken irori hearth. Come 2nd and 3rd March, chef Masashi will bring his culinary wizardry to Shun by Yanagiya with an omakase menu crafted for the occasion (THB8,500++ per pax; two seatings available at 6pm and 8.45pm). Expect a slew of dishes outside the usual menu, and of course, out-of-this-world foodgasms.

Malaysia’s One&Only Desaru Coast Unveils Ember Beach Club
If you’ve been counting the days to the launch of seaside resort One&Only Desaru Coast this March, here’s a sneak peek at its glam beach club to get you hyped up. Opening on 23 March together with the resort on Johor’s east coast, Ember Beach Club will see a sizzling culinary program centred around open-fire cooking. Crafted by Andrew Walsh (chef extraordinaire behind Singapore restaurants like Cure and Butcher Boy), the menu will feature fresh local catch and slow-grilled meats with Asian flavours. Lounge by the infinity pools and nosh on light bites like Hokkaido scallops and prawn satay, or go big with grilled seabass and wagyu ribeye laced with kampot pepper.
Ember Beach Club will launch on 23 March 2020, opening hours Sun & Wed-Thurs 11am–8.30pm, Fri-Sat 11am–12am for the main restaurant. See here for more details.
Vietnam’s Alba Wellness Valley Launches Detox Retreats
