5 Reasons You Should Visit Cafe Fest

1. You love cafés. Duh.

Café hopping is such a popular activity it’s a legitimate lifestyle, especially here in Singapore. It can, however, be a tiring past time travelling to all corners of the island – especially when you don’t drive – in the limited time of weekends and weekday nights. This world-first’s café-centric event brings together a total of 12 cafés side-by-side in a single location for two days. This also allows one to meet the passionate people behind the cafés and get to know more about them and their craft.

2. To satisfy that caffeine monster within you

Admit it caffeine lovers; a day without that cuppa joe is so miserable, it’s unthinkable. The organisers, Gabriel Tan and Sarah Lek, both young PR professionals, know that all too well – as coffee aficionados themselves, they’ve handpicked eight of the best coffees to be found in Singapore, including Jimmy Monkey, Maison Ikkoku and Toby’s Estate.

3. Not a coffee-lover? The food’s good too.

Besides eight coffee craftsmen, there are cafés there which specialise in creating mind-blowingly good food.

Take Hatter Street, whose chef trained in a three-Michelin Star restaurant in Hong Kong and infuses her whimsical journey in life into her culinary creations, or I am…, which serves up European Halal cuisine following an Amsterdam-themed menu. Of course, the other cafés have their own food as well, such as the totally drool-some French Toast from Jimmy Monkey.

4. Not to mention the music and entertainment.

A festival is incomplete without music, and there’s nothing better than live bands playing whilst you immerse yourself in the clouds of coffee and food smells. Bands such as 53A, After Breeze and Josiah Seet ensure that there will be nary a moment of silence, just uplifting, dynamic tunes.

5. …AND games, along with a big dose of good vibes

Instead of café-hopping, you can quite literally hop your way through in the coffee-sack hopping race. If that’s not your kind of thing, there’s also table tennis by Fred Perry as well as set ups by Books Actually x Basheer Graphic Books and Kapok for your browsing pleasure. At the end of it all, it’s a place for you to enjoy the good vibes that can only be found in a festival like this.

Café Fest happens on 6 & 7 September, by The Waterfront Promenade at Marina Bay. VIP Experience tickets are sold out, but Café Hopping Passes are still available at $25 each, which entitles you to free Uber rides and special prices. Admission is free.
