Yay for yet another long weekend! On top of all the Easter-related activities (eating and drinking included), why not check out the 10th anniversary of Recalling Mother or Asia’s longest fashion runway? There’s also 90s-themed market at Tanjong Pagar Railway Station, a pool party featuring one of Italy’s best DJs, and an art walk through the historic neighbourhood of Potong Pasir.
Recalling Mother by Checkpoint Theatre
A groundbreaking play written by and starring Claire Wong and Noorlinah Mohamed, Recalling Mother is back for its fourth edition, this time presented by Checkpoint Theatre. This celebration of the joys and challenges of motherhood has been revisited, updated, and developed with each staging (in 2006, 2009, 2015, and 2016), in parallel with Claire’s and Noorlinah’s relationship with their respective mothers over the years.
Recalling Mother is running from 24 to 27 March 2016 at Esplanade Theatre Studio. Tickets are priced at $35 and are available via SISTIC.
TLP x Tanjong Pagar Railway Station’s 90s Market
All aboard the Tanjong Pagar Express! The Local People are collaborating with Singapore Land Authority to organise a 90’s themed market at the iconic Tanjong Pagar Railway Station. There’ll also be movie screenings, digital art installations, and live renditions of music from the past! They’ve also adopted a charity, Food From The Heart, this time, so bring food donations (rice cooking oil, instant noodles, biscuits, condensed milk, sardines, and canned fruits) to support the cause.
The Local People Express – Art Market is happening on Friday, 25 March 2016 at Tanjong Pagar Railway Station from 3pm to 9pm. For more details, check out the event page here.
Orchard Fashion Runway 2016
Catch the longest catwalk show in action as Fashion Steps Out returns for the 7th year! Kicking off this must-see event is the Orchard Fashion Runway, where you’ll see a veritable army of stunning models, personalities, influencers, and artistes – including JJ Lin, Sheila Sim, and Haley Woo – sashaying their way down Orchard Road. Some labels that will be participating include Mash-Up, Jay Chou’s PHANTACi, Raffles Privato, and Thomas Wee.
Orchard Fashion Runway 2016 is happening on 26 March 2016 along Orchard Road from 7pm.
Eyes To The Front Pool Party presents STEFANO RITTERIÂ
Italian DJ Stefano Ritteri is back to ignite ETTF’s latest pool party with his mind-blowing house and techno. He’s held residencies at clubs such as Fabric in London and release on labels such as Dirtybird and Defected. Joining Stefano on the decks is Kuala Lumpur’s golden boy JONNYVICIOUS, bringing his signature blend of stripped back house and tech. Drink specials include $12 beer and house wines, $15 housepours, $170 bottles and Tattinger Champagne.

OH! Potong Pasir
How well do you know Potong Pasir? Join a 2-hour art walkabout that takes you into private homes and restricted spaces to see 12 site-specific artworks by artists like Ang Song Nian, Guo Yixiu, Michelle Lim, and Tan Wee Lit. You’ll be led from the bridge with the best view, to 4 HDBs, a black and white colonial, and ending in Bidadari, the former cemetery.
