This week presents an abundance of artistic experiences, from stunning displays of visual art to explorations in contemporary film and music. So come revel in the culture of the city, and who knows? This might just be what it takes to get your creative juices flowing.
From Pop Art to New Media
Contemplate the recent transformation of modern art in China, as ShanghART Singapore presents From Pop Art to New Media, a group exhibition featuring seven of the most illustrious Chinese artists today. Born and bred in an era of increased connectivity and global political turmoil, these artists seek to ruminate on our turbulent times in their various works. From the earlier appropriation of western Pop Art styles used to challenge political authority, to the current examinations of our material and sensory perceptions in digital media, see how marvellously art has reflected their creators’ realities at this eye-opening exhibition.
From Pop Art to New Media will be happening from 19 August to 22 October 2017, Wed – Sun, 11am – 7pm, at ShanghART Singapore, 9 Lock Road, #02-22, Gillman Barracks, Singapore 108937. For more information, check out their event page here.

Round up your friends, and close this jam-packed week with a sensational night out, soundtracked by the most mesmerising, ambient synths of Marcus L and Jonathan Kusama. The former, having grown up in Seoul and lived in Berlin, combines influences from both East and West to build his signature sound – a heavily deliberate and syncopated brand of electronic music. The latter, on the other hand, has played underground clubs internationally, including Kosmonaut and Golden Gate in Berlin, thus such is evident in his grimier accents. Together, their music will definitely take you on an enthralling tour around the world.
