This week sees Singapore’s biggest dance festival, a theatrical spin on one of history’s most evil men, a three-day wine festival, and parties hosted by two of Asia’s top DJs.

With eight ticketed productions, over 40 workshops and masterclasses, and more than 90 free performances and activities, the 11th edition of Esplanade’s da:ns festival has plenty for everyone, dance lover or otherwise. Iconic dance artists and producers who’ve made a significant impact on the dance world will be taking up centre stage, including Pina Bausch (whose works have not be seen here since the 1970s), Spain’s flamenco superstar Sara Baras, and Batsheva Dance Company’s Ohad Naharin, one of the world’s best contemporary choreographers.

Starring Hitler As Jekyll and Hyde

What if Hitler were Jekyll and Hyde, turning from a young passionate painter by day into a tyrannical dictator at night? History and fiction collide in this production by The Finger Players, borrowing characters and themes from the literary classic to retell the history of Jewish holocaust in a new tale of terror. First staged in 2014 to critical acclaim, Starring Hitler as Jekyll and Hyde explores the rise and return of fundamentalism and fanaticism in today’s world.

Originally from France, she moved to Hong Kong in 2009 where she’s since played at venues like Azure LKF Hotel, Boujis Club, The Mira Hotel, Ovolo hotels, Honi Honi, NEO, and Mahalo Tiki Lounge. Let her draw out the good vibes at kyo with her unique blend of disco, house, and deep house.

Wine Discovery Weekend

One of the biggest wine events in Singapore is back! Taste more than 100 wine labels from over 40 wineries as 18 vintners and winery representatives fly down to share more about their wine. Themed ‘Discovering The Exceptional Less-Explore’, this year’s edition will bring to the forefront rare back-vintages, organic and biodynamic wines, and three exclusive wine-pairing dinners at various restaurants, including the prestigious Shisen Hanten, Cherry Garden, and W Hotel.

Eyes To The Front presents Damian Saintthings to do in singapore

Damian Saint is no stranger to Singapore – he’s been pushing the house music scene in South East Asia for a long time now, spending the last few years as the Music Director for W Hotel Bali. Alongside his current studio work, Damian has amassed an international portfolio of underground house, knocking out crowds with his techno and disco shows around the world and playing for big names like FHM, GQ, Mercedes and MTV. This Saturday, he’ll be supported by Oliver Osborne and Jeevan Leroy.
