From paella to teh tarik, and three restaurants launching attractively priced set lunches to lure you in, here are five things to perk up your week!
Catalunya Launches Set Lunch
We’re ecstatic that Catalunya has finally launched their long-awaited set lunch. Priced at $38++, this three-course meal allows you to mix and match from three options for each course to creat your own lunch. Expect dishes like Salmorejo, a traditional tomato-based soup, and Red Snapper in Salsa Verde. To seal the deal, all house pour wines, red and white, are going at $10++ per glass with the set lunch.
Brekkie at MEDZS Bistro & Bar
Busy bees in the CBD, this one’s for you. MEDZS Bistro & Bar at Clifford Centre has introduced a spanking new breakfast menu to start your day right. From Monday to Friday, 8am-11am, dine in for hearty sandwiches like the Laugenbrotchen with Pork Bierschinken & Red Cheddar Cheese ($12.90). For those looking for breakfast on the go, all takeaways are going at 50% off till 31 March 2015.
Paella and Sangria Wednesdays
UNA dishes out some of the best paella and sangria in town – if you agree, you’ll be glad to hear that they’ve launched All-You-Can-Eat Paella and Sangria Wednesdays! Priced at $65++ inclusive of free-flow sangria and $48++ inclusive of free-flow soft drinks and juices, this sumptuous Spanish dish will be prepared and served in the garden with a gargantuan paella pan. This is one to bring the little ‘uns to, since kids under the age of 12 dine free with every paying adult.
Mitzo’s 45-Minute Set Lunch
Whether you’re a time-starved white-collar worker or an executive on a hunt for a power business lunch, you’re in luck. Mitzo‘s weekday set lunch (12pm-2.30pm) actually comes with a guarantee: if you don’t finish your meal and foot the bill within 45 minutes, lunch is on the house! With more than 20 different options, including some of Mitzo’s signatures like the Mitzo Special BBQ Pork and Golden Fried Soft Shell Crab in Curry Floss, the four-course set lunch starts from $28++ per set.

On top of their three-course set lunch on weekdays (12pm-2pm) – the menu changes monthly and February saw dishes like Prawn Mee Soup and Tau Suan – UJONG at Raffles Hotel is also running a weekday afternoon tea Teh Tarik Set at $5++ (3pm-5pm), which includes 2 pieces of local kueh with your cup of teh tarik. Looking for something more substantial? Available weekdays 3pm-6pm, their Beer & Pork Ribs Set ($15++) pairs a pint of ice-cold Tiger Beer with juicy black vinegar ribs.
