Blissful Bali with The Shanti Collection

It might just be our favourite place in the world. With sun, gracious people, a sense of belonging, and that Hindu/Buddhist spirit, Bali is the place to go to nourish your soul and escape from the madness of the city.
First stop…Nusa Dua! Surrounded by nothing but nature and rocky roads, we made our way to The Shanti Residence for a one night stay and ‘residence’ is the most fitting word to describe The Shanti. A small kitchen cooking up some delicious Indonesian and Western delights, communal dining table and private villas branching off from the main, warm watered, pond like pool, makes this feel like someone’s home. The residence also has its own home cinema and a cosy spa room. There are five private villas each as glorious as the next, but the master villa – where we stayed – is the daddy of all villas.
The Shanti Residence
The master villa is a luxurious, James Bond-esque, one bed villa fit for a prince. Let me give you a run down of the whole villa: there’s a lounge, main bedroom with four poster bed, huge bathroom complete with outdoor and indoor shower (just in case you need a switch up), a storage and changing room and a beautiful outdoor decking area looking out to plantations and wilderness where you’ll find a private plunge pool and a sheltered day bed.
The Shanti Residence is the perfect, tranquil retreat. It’s the kind of place you’d be very happy to honeymoon or just escape for a weekend of nothing but R & R. Of all the properties in the collection, this has to be the most serene and peaceful.

Next, we hopped to Seminyak; home of the beach bar and easy, summer-chilled-tunes. Seminyak offers a range of accommodation from plush, globally-known names such as The W Hotel, to cosy, secluded Balinese villas. If you’re looking for one property which houses all these concepts, it’s Four@Drupadi you want.
Located down a side street a stones throw from Ku De Ta, Four@Drupadi boast 5 types of specialty villas; Italian, Japanese, Indian, Chinese and Balinese each entirely different and true to their style. We stayed in the traditional one bed Chinese villa, which is a dainty representation of a Chinese home, filled with wooden storage, tea pots, Chinese art, complete with a small garden and outdoor shower. It’s a stark contrast to the modern, monochrome, two bed, Italian villa bedside it.

This is a very well planned out experience. Each villa has it’s own cuisine. Expect breakfast delivered to your room daily and total privacy, whilst still in the heart of Seminyak. The best thing about this group of properties is the service. The staff are always smiley and willing to accommodate to your needs and the 24 butler service, which comes with the stay, means you have a personal driver attentive staff willing to accommodate to your needs.
With new properties in the collection opening across the country soon, find relaxation, convenience and exceptional service wherever you are in Bali.
