Technology and performance art meet to create a spellbinding theatre experience.
Led by video artist and director Nobuyuki Hanabusa, enra is a visual performance troupe from Japan comprising versatile performers with diverse backgrounds in ballet, martial arts, street dance, rhythmic gymnastics, media art and pantomime.
This highly innovative collective takes dance entertainment and digital projection to new levels. Their ever-growing repertoire includes spectacularly choreographed scenes that look at times like video games come to life, others a simple yet dramatic play of lights, shapes and graceful dance movements.
In 2012, enra conceptualised and performed a piece that was part of the Tokyo bid team’s winning campaign for the 2020 Olympic Games.
This event is taking place from Saturday, 30 May to Sunday, 1 May at the Esplanade Theatre Studio.
