CBD-based gastrobar The Mad Poet is proud to offer wine lovers and cheese-a-holics the ultimate in free flow. Every Thursday evening from 6pm until 8pm, you are invited to come and fill your boots with great quality cheese and wine for a very wallet-friendly $33nett.
The cheeses are supplied by local company The Cheese Shop and include French and British varieties. The French cheese contingent includes Epoisses, a salty and creamy soft cheese from Burgundy; strong smelling Livarot, one of the oldest Normandy cheeses; Sainte-Maure De Touraine, a mild French goat’s cheese; Fourme D’Ambert, a mild blue cheese and one of the oldest cheeses in France. The UK is represented by award-winning British cheese, Keens Cheddar and Cornish Yarg, a semi-hard cheese wrapped in nettle leaves to form an edible rind.
The wines have been chosen to best compliment the giant cheese board and include Pinot Grigio and Merlot Cabernet blends from Italy as well as a nice and crisp Sauvignon Blanc.
