Kilo Bali: Modern Minimalism and Fusion Plates

Kilo’s hearty food and soulful music have always been the talk of the town and it’s no surprise that they’ve decided to spread the gospel. Having opened their first outlet overseas in Bali a year ago, Kilo Bali offers Kilo Singapore’s signature dishes as well as presents specials created with seasonal Balinese produce in mind.
Located along Jalan Drupadi in the vibrant Seminyak district, Kilo Bali’s kitchen is helmed by Chef Manel and Chef Tim, who look to transform the sharing experience while captivating the diner’s imagination and palate.
The unconventional and modern minimalist architecture sets it apart from the other restaurants in Bali, offering a quiet respite away from all the hustle and bustle of the main Seminyak stretch. Without a doubt, we had to order our personal favorite Wasabi Tuna Tartare (Rp 80k) for starters, along with Grilled Green Vegetables and Burrata (Rp 95k).
For the adventurous eaters, Beef Tongue Tacos (Rp 110k) might tickle your fancy and these tacos are even good for anyone who’s not a big fan of innards.
With their sharing plates menu, it’s best to head down to Kilo Bali in a group (though we’ll love the ambience for a date night if it’s quieter). Dishes such as the Crispy Deboned Garoupa (Rp 250k) and Cream of Ebiko Pasta (Rp 180k) are great for groups of four or more.To top it off, get a couple of desserts – Chocolate Lava Cake and Black Sticky Rice – before you hit the cocktails.
The food might be slightly inconsistent on a busy night (we visited on two separate occasions), but the beautiful setting, hospitality, and good vibes more than make up for it. Perhaps we’re used to dining at Kilo Singapore, but eating at Kilo Bali sure feels like falling into the warm embrace of an old friend.
Kilo Bali is located at Jalan Drupadi No.22Xx, Seminyak. For table reservations, you can reach them at +62 812-4616-7618 or [email protected].
