If you’re into fleas like me, so often you can end up overwhelmed, disappointed, paying through-the-nose and basically frazzled when checking out fleas – and quite possibly, all of these at the same time. Fleas can end up being a nightmare to negotiate and too much of a brain-ache for even the most seasoned of flea-goers.
So imagine a flea that is so perfectly curated that it looks more like a pop-up shop, where there are bargains galore including pre-loved designer and vintage designer labels, high street fashion picks and brand new stock from some rather awesome indie boutiques for the gals and guys. And there you have Le Flea Boutique!
Oh and did I mention that rather than going into the pockets of the organizers that everything goes to charity? Yes, 100% of proceeds from the sale and $5 entry donation will go to Action for AIDS Singapore to support their crucial work in the fields of HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness, education, and general operating support.
Sounds too good to be true? Well wake up because you’re not dreaming. All of the above, my friends, comes together under the banner of Le Flea Boutique, happening on Sunday 10th June, 11am-3pm. Once again taking over the uber cool Talent Cafe in Tanjong Pagar for its third outing Le Flea Boutique is going to be even better than the last. Why? Because the team behind it has been working super hard along with all their supporters to get a treasure trove of designer labels, street wear and brand new items together in this perfectly curated event for fashionistas and bargain lovers alike.
What to expect? OK are you sitting comfortably? Because what I’m about to say might make you swoon. Coveted pre-loved designer labels in the Flea Luxe collection include: Anna Sui, Burberry, Chloe, Cavalli, Coach, DKNY, D&G, Diane von Furstenberg, Helmut Lang, Hugo Boss, Jean-Paul Gaultier…phew! let’s draw breath to show proof of the Chloe right here by drawing your attention to the jacket (left)…shhhhh! yes this is the Chloe!
And…. continue: Matthew Williamson, Paul Smith, Ralph Lauren, Thakoon, Sportmax, Vivienne Westwood just to name a few at ridiculously reasonable prices because you’ll be able to bag most of these pieces at around the $100 mark. Jeepers creepers!
Those on the lookout for a bargain can delve into the pre-loved high-street line up priced from $10 including items from Banana Republic, Guess, Dorothy Perkins, Diesel, Firetrap, Forever21, New Look, G-Star, H&M, Massimo Dutti, Replay, Topshop, Mango, Zara Men & Women, Warehouse and many more.
And on top of that will be a chance to snap up brand new out-of-the-stockroom items under the Flea Nouveau banner, thanks to generous donations from brands and boutiques including Dulcetfig, K.I.N, Sifr, Cat Socretes, Define Happiness Sunglasses, Etrican, 9 Fountains, Nana & Bird, Rococco Kent and Threadbare & Squirrel.
Etrican floral dress worn as skirt (S) $20, Wonderland top from Roccoco Kent top (S) $10
And while you’re there, it’s a perfect chance to chill out and catch up with friends because to ensure that there is plenty of fuel for the shoppers, the Talent Café will once again be laying on a special brunch. After shopping, guests can gloat over their amazing finds over a latte or a glass of wine and even grab a bite to eat with 10% of all proceeds from food & drink donated to the Action for AIDS.
At City Nomads, we’ve given Le Flea Boutique our stamp of approval for being a not-to-be-missed flea. So fashion heads and treasure hunters, get thee down to Talent Cafe on 10th June, unearth some gems and leave with a bounty knowing that for once those latest additions to your wardrobe will come with a big imaginary guilt-free sign overhead. Shopping for a good cause? What’s not to love!
Le Flea Boutique is happening on Sunday 10th June, 11am – 3pm only, at The Talent Cafe, 34-36 Tras Street, 079026. 5 minutes walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT station.
