Singapore International Jewelry Expo 2019 Arrives This Week With Over 230 Exhibitors From 26 Countries

With Instagram being a key bible for OOTDs (outfit of the day) and the sheer amount of photogenic jewellery on the platform, it’s no wonder the demand for fine jewellery has shot up around the world. As the Singapore International Jewelry Expo prepares to open its doors to welcome more than 15,000 visitors from 18 to 21 July, we take a look at what to expect at Singapore’s largest jewellery extravaganza.

230 exhibitors from 26 countries

Is Singapore an important destination for fine jewellery? If recent reports by Euromonitor are any indication, the market for luxury pieces in the city is constantly on the rise. So yes, it is. During the event, high net worth buyers and enthusiasts from Singapore and the region will be able to view and purchase stunning collection from over 200 exhibitors, from locally-based jewellers to internationally-renowned brands from the United States, South Africa, Europe, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and beyond. Overseas names make one two-thirds of the exhibitor list, so you can bet there’ll be plenty of gems to discover — literally.

An exciting list of fringe happenings

There’s plenty of excitement to expect every day, like highly-anticipated on-stage live auctions by HotLots Auction House for jewellery, watches, and other luxury goods. The opening day this Thursday will also see an awards presentation ceremony for winners of the inaugural International Jewellery Stars (IJS) Awards, which rides on the theme of ‘Fantasy’.
Other events include a fashion show hosted by International Women’s Federation of Commerce & Industry (IWFCI) Singapore, daily purchase lucky draws, and a grand draw at the end to make one lucky winner very, very happy.

Rare and spectacular collections in excess of USD$150 million

As you traverse the great length of Marina Bay Sands Expo’s ritzy exhibition halls, you’ll find a breathtaking (not to mention expensive) display of exquisite jewellery, prized gemstones, and other investment pieces from the biggest jewellery hubs around the globe. The most impressive star of the show is a flawless round brilliant diamond weighing a massive 27 carats, set into a ring by Ivy Masterpiece. It’s worth a whopping SGD$3 million, and we don’t imagine anyone will say no to that.

Leonori from Italy, DeJade Jewellery from Hong Kong and Paragon Worldwide from Thailand are just some of the many international exhibitors at SIJE 2019

There’s something impressive for everyone

Not ready to shell out half a year’s salary for a ring that’s not for your fiancee? We totally get it. At SIJE 2019, you’ll find that there’s something for everyone whether your budget is $300 or $3 million. Be regaled with splendid baubles and blings that celebrate the artistic expression of jewelry design in Asia, and you’ll realise that not all glittery fine jewellery has to cost an arm and leg. Brands to look out for include homegrown labels Manjrie, which melds heritage with western aesthetics, and private custom bespoke jewellers Kinchos.

Singapore International Jewelry Expo 2019 is happening from 18 to 21 July 2019 at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre. Admission is free with registration on site!
