An Innovative Mixology Class by WOOBAR & City Nomads

In 2015, we’ve organized cocktail workshops at venues such as Hopscotch and 28 Hong Kong Street for you guys. And kicking off our event calendar for 2016 is Mix It Up, which we organised with WOOBAR at W Singapore – Sentosa Cove last month.

In case you missed it, Mix It Up was an exclusive (complimentary) mixology masterclass we held for six pairs of readers, followed by a cocktail competition where all 12 participants were tested on their skills.

Each pair of participants were given a one-to-one masterclass with the talents at WOOBAR to prepare themselves for the cocktail competition after. During the masterclass, they were taught the basics of bartending – such as how to handle bar tools and bartending techniques – and how to create WOOBAR’s signature cocktail, The Cove Royale.

As soon as the intensive masterclass was completed, the competition began with judges represented by both W Singapore – Sentosa Cove and City Nomads. Participants were tested on the flavour, presentation, balance and techniques.

After 12 cocktails and a whole lot of water to wash it all down, the judges convened and crowned the top two winners. The top prize was a Sunday Remix Brunch for 2 at The Kitchen Table while the runner-up will be heading back to WOOBAR for their W T Time for 2.

For the rest of the participants who took spent their Saturday afternoon with us, they also received complimentary acess to W Singapore’s Eggxotic Summer Pool Party on 26 March 2016!
